Originally produced for the Chinese infantry forces, the Type 06 was soon adopted by the U.N.S.N. forces for a more powerful substitute to the MN-23, also of Seburo make. Although intended for right-handed users it can easily be switched with a quick visit to one's local requisitions officer or armorer. The Type 06 also features a three-position adjustable stock and an adjustable rear sight. This assualt rifle fires the same 6.8mm round as its little brother from a gas operated rotating bolt action, but with a higher force then the MN-23 musters. To compensate for the increased likelihood of an exit wound, the rounds used are either designed for increased tumble or a ballooning out. The Type 06 fires from a 40 round magazine, with a 60 round magazine available. The firing group include typical safety, single, and full auto but lacks a burst function. Although it features superior firepower, many spacers prefer the MN-23 due to its smaller size and less recoil, leaving the Type 06 to the ship-board marines. It fares better against hardsuits then the MN-23, and penetrates softsuits at mid-range distances over 60% of the time, even without armor piercing rounds.
